At the same time when new line of Macbook Pros was released, the company also announced that their launch of Mac OS X Lion is getting close to us.

Starting today, Mac developer will be able to get their hands on Mac OS X Lion and review the software. Also, developer will be able to create suitable software for Lion, which could be released through Mac App Store.

The new software, Mac OS X Lion, features Mission Control (shows what programs are running) and Launchpad (which lists all the applications that are installed in Mac).

After the release of Apple’s iPad, attention towards tablet PCs have been increasing. Different companies now have released their own, unique tablet PCs to compete with Apple. In this year’s Mobile World Congress 2011, which was held in Barcelona, at least five new tablet PCs were revealed but so far, I’ve got information for five products only. They are LG Optimus Pad (aka T-Mobile G-State), Samsung Galaxy Tab 10.1, HTC Flyer, Huawei Ideo Slim S7 and ViewPad 4.

LG Optimus Pad/T-Mobile G-State

LG Optimus Pad in Korea and T-Mobile G-State in the U.S. This product has a 1280 x 768 pixel WXGA resoultion with 1GHZ dual-core Nvidia Tegra 2 processor inside the device. Also, the forte of this device is that you can record HD video and with the help of HDMI, 3D videos with TVs will be available. However, you will need glasses to watch in 3D.

Samsung Galaxy Tab 10.1

I was waiting for this to come out because it got better and bigger(I prefer bigger screens so maybe not so great for some people). As you can guess from the name of the device, Galaxy Tab has 10.1 inch WXGA display. It runs the latest Android OS called Android 3.0 Honeycomb OS and like LG Optimus 2X and Galaxy S2, Galaxy Tab 10.1 is powered by a dual-core processor called Nvidia’s Tegra 2 chipset. Other than these, new features include HD video recording, front and rear camera that are 8 and 2 megapixel and last but not least, it will have both Wi-Fi and HSPA+ support but I am not quite sure about bluetooth.

HTC Flyer

It is the first tablet PC both designed and made by HTC. Some of the features include 7 inch super LCD touch screen, specs including 1GB RAM, 32GB ROM, front camera with 1.3 megapixel and rear camera with 5 megapixel and it runs Android 2.4. It also supports HSPA+, Bluetooth and Wi-Fi. In addition, the good thing about this device is that it encourages pen based use so you can take notes, draw pictures and etc.

Huawei Ideo Slim S7

Huawei introduced their first tablet PC called Ideo Slim S7, just like HTC. Even though it has a smaller screen of 7 inch display compared to Galaxy Tab 10.1, the thickness measures only about a half inch. It runs Android 2.2 and people can make phone calls, just like Galaxy Tab. Other than these, it has features similar to other tablet PCs.

ViewPad 4

When I heard that this tablet PC has 4 inch screen, I thought this was more of a smartphone. It has a Qualcomm 1GHz processor, a 5 megapixel camera and a VGA front facing camera, 2GB ROM, 512MB RAM, Wi-Fi, Bluetooth 2.1, GPS, and a Mini-HDMI output.

Recently revealed, Samsung’s new Galaxy S2 now have new features that the previous version, Galaxy S, did not have. Although I wouldhave to say that it is just the upgraded version of Galaxy S, GalS2(aka Galaxy S2) took a great leap from GalS(aka Galaxy S).

The new GalS2 has a thickness of 8.49mm with a screen that measures 4.27 inches (800x480). Moreover, the screen on Galaxy S2 uses an AMOLED Plus display.

For the inside structure of GalS2, instead of using NVIDIA Tegra 2 core, which used to be GalS’ main processor,GalS2 contains Exynos chip. Plus, GalS2 has a dual core processor which allows the phone to operate at a fast speed. In terms of a software, Samsung put in TouchWiz 4.0 on top of Gingerbread in their new Galaxy S2.

Galaxy S2 can be used in many different ways. The voice control system became morestabled compared to its predecessor. Some people might complain about the phone bill they have to pay every month and GalS2 will be a perfect fit for them. It now has a feature called m-VoIP or wireless internet phone call, which is free. Furthermore, one feature that surprised me was Find my GalaxyS2 (it did not have a name so I kind of derived it from Apple’s find my iPhone). It’s far better than the service that Find my iPhone provides.

I would have to say that because GalS2 is just a developed version of GalS, I’ll have to say that these are basically it. If I have time, I will upload information about Galaxy Tab 10.1.

Wait for about thirty minutes because what is going tohappen is Samsung is going to unveil their next version of Galaxy S. It’s called Galaxy S2 and the number two in the name has a lot of meaning to it. From the summary that I read, it has wider screen with faster processor. That’s what I know so far.
